Busy summer so far...

I've been MIA! Summer is flying by! Aaron and Brendan are both playing summer baseball and they have had tournaments the last 4 weeks! This coming weekend will be their last one. It has been really fun but also tiring and expensive to travel that much! Along with baseball, we had a family reunion at the beach. That was a blast except it rained the day we took the quads out on the sand! Bummer! It would have been nice to have a toy hauler that day. We have actively been looking for a toy hauler but can't find the one we want...so we keep searching. It will be so fun when we get one because so many of our friends have RV's now! Hopefully we will get one soon.

I don't have a ton of pictures from the summer like I would have wanted. Our camera is acting up and the pictures keep turning out blurry. I think the battery might have been dying...I don't know. We have been using our point and shoot Canon which is nice but we need to develop the film. Here is a pic of Aaron's team when they got 1st place and a cool pic of Aaron pitching. I should have edited it to show the determination on his face. I think if you click on it you can see better. He's a good little pitcher. All the pics of Brendan are on the other camera. :(
Have a great day!!

Memorial Day weekend

I had a fabulous memorial day weekend. This is a layout I did of us girls when we went out to dinner for Carmen's birthday. (photo courtesy of Carrie Postma) We went out to one of my favorites...Cheesecake Factory. Yum! Then we scrapped and the next day we shopped! What could be better, huh? The rest of the weekend we spent with my sister and her family and at my sons baseball games. Fun times!!
Now back to the grind but only 12 more days of school!! YEE-HAW!!
Have a fantastic day!

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we went to church and then went out to lunch...Mexican food, my fave! Yum! Sid gave me a beautiful hanging flower basket. We spent the rest of the day just hanging out together. I received the sweetest gifts from my boys!

Aaron wrote me a poem.
Here it is...

Mom, the awesome mom I love.
The mother that cares for me.
The mother that helps me when I need it.
Mom, the caregiver for two children.
The perfect mother for me.
Mom, an amazing woman.
Always there for hugs and kisses.
The happy soul for every day.

Isn't that the cutest??? He's in 3rd grade.

Brendan gave me a packet called "Supermom" with various "fill-in-the-blanks" about me. He also gave me a flower pot that he colored.
Here are some of the questions...

The funniest thing I remember about Mom is...When she talks like Toby (our dog) if he could talk.
The most special gift I could give my Mom would be... a glass butterfly.
My Mom loves me best when... I am nice to others.
My Mom looks prettiest when...she smiles.

So sweet! He's in 2nd grade.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

My Sluggers

Here are a few pics of the boys sportin' their baseball uniforms. Coincidentally, they are both the "A's". Aaron is in Minors and Brendan is in Rookies. They are both havin' a blast and are learning tons. I'm sure I will be doing some baseball LO's sometime soon. I have been slacking on getting some good action shots but will before the season ends...hopefully on a sunny day! There has only been one game that they've each had when it didn't rain. We still have over a month left! Whew!! Six days a week of baseball is a lot but it is so much fun to watch them play!

Needs and Wants

This is the same game Carrie posted on her blog. I typed in "Heidi needs" and then "Heidi wants" in google. They are pretty funny!

Heidi needs...

Heidi needs a day off! (Ain't that the truth!!)
Heidi needs someone to love her. ( I already have someone who loves me! :))
Heidi needs a lifeboat. (Sure!)
Heidi needs to know that every man she meets is drooling over her. (Hmm... not so much!!)
Heidi needs her own site.
Heidi needs a lift.
Heidi needs a breast augmentation. (No, thanks! But how 'bout a butt reduction!)

Heidi wants...

Heidi wants "more". (of what??)
Heidi wants to silence all science that does not agree with her liberal views... (I think it's the other way around!)
Heidi wants to meet 8 people. (Okay.)
Heidi wants a pizza with bell peppers and pineapple. (Now that's more like it! Maybe not with pineapple though and add some meat, baby!!)

This was fun, thanks Carrie!

Prom night!

We went to the Prom on Saturday night!!

My husband is Assistant Principal at a very small low-income high school. He was in charge of putting together Prom this year! This was a huge deal for him because he had never done anything like this before. The past 10 years or so the students had gone to the Elks Lodge and the girls wore regular dresses and the boys wore jeans and button-up shirts!! Come on...to the Prom?? Sid (hubby) was determined to change this. He planned and delegated jobs to various people and it turned out AWESOME!! I am so proud of him! The venue this year was an art gallery. There was catered food with servers (they are used to going to McDonalds for dinner before Prom!!) and a DJ. Since the students couldn't afford to buy dresses or suits or tuxes they were able to get dresses donated and the students had 3 car washes at the high school and raised almost $700 to help pay. Teachers and some parents also donated $$ to help. The students were on their best behavior, looked GREAT and had so much fun!! This is something they had never done before. At proms in the past there were only about 20 students who attended. This year there were 62 out of 70 students!!! Yay!! I hope this helps the morale of the school because they need it so bad. What great memories for them!
